Alavya
Design
Alavya is a magical settlement of six unique houses with 25 rooms, some face a large courtyard, others small patios enhanced with white mulberry, olive, mastic and a wide array of fruit trees. Designed by Polimeks and decorated by Turkey’s renowned interior decorator Hakan Ezer, each house tells its own story and has its own style.
Adorned with art works throughout, these restored historical houses embrace the past, different in flavor yet similar in character they were built, decorated and are operated with utmost respect for nature.
Alaçatı
A stroll among its cobblestone streets and traditional Greek-style houses is enough to understand why visitors fall in love with Alaçatı. Located 72 kilometres west of Izmir, Alaçatı is a town that enchants visitors with its historical beauty and rich folklore. Known as ‘Agrilia’ in ancient times, it had many incarnations. During Ottoman times it was referred to as ‘Alacaatlı’ (home to the Alacaatlı clan). In the 19th century the Greeks called it ‘Alatzata, a name believed to have derived from the word ’alas’ (meaning ‘salt’) after the surrounding salt lakes.
Rooms
Classic Collection rooms reflect Alaçatı at its best, elegant simplicity in comfort. Designed to convey a sense of serenity, Alavya’s Premium Collection balance aesthetics with comfort. Our two exclusive More Than Suites offer an experience in tasteful modern living, complete with private Jacuzzi and spectacular views of Alaçatı’s whispering windmills. There is the Honeymoon suit which is a sheer delight overlooking Alavya. In Alavya’s oldest building, the Turquoise Loft is arguably the most impressive accommodation option.
Sustainability: #welavyaalaçatı
Alavya’s true magic is it’s Dream Team, they call Alavya their Happiness Factory and every Monday they are on the streets of Alaçatı collecting rubbish. The #welavyaalaçatı project encompasses Alavya’s continuous efforts of reducing its impact on our sacred environment. All our food is bought from the local markets, supporting the area’s producers. Each year we collaborate with a local artist to make our New Year and Christmas tree from collected rubbish from the hotel; our shampoo/body wash packaging has been an all-time favourite.
